Native Female-Youth Powwow Group and Regalia-Making teaches youth to make their own traditional Powwow regalia, passing on traditional knowledge and helping them develop their own skills and responsibilities associated with being a dancer. Harbinger’s support provided a weekly workshop to 8 participants.

Providing opportunities for Toronto-urban Indigenous youth, adults and elders to connect with traditional plants and one another to promote knowledge building, sharing and healing. Harbinger’s funding supported a partnership between The Stop and NaMaRes, a shelter for Indigenous men.
Connecting First Nations youth and freshwater research

Provides opportunity for Indigenous youth in northern Ontario to build skills and experience around water monitoring and research. Foundation support contributed to 14 school tours of the Experimental Lakes Area.
Kenora Pilot Program, Centre for Indigenous Theatre (CIT)

Harbinger's support helped CIT run a pilot project summer workshop for youth mentored by local Indigenous artists. Stories from the youth give voice to their experiences, insights, and imaginations.
No More Silence, culture Camp
This organization provide families of missing and murdered Indigenous women with access to community connections to help in the healing journey. Harbinger provided support to help send a family member of a murdered Indigenous woman to a healing culture camp in Little Buffalo, Alberta. The words of the individual attending the camp are the best way to describe the importance of this grant: "With your help I was able to learn how to let go of my grief as my daughter was taken away tragically... in 2013."
Creating the Creation Story, Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC)

Harbinger support enabled a project to begin by interviewing people to share their knowledge on the Creation Story. This mini-documentary examines how well stories are getting passed down and reinforces the importance of oral traditions.

Harbinger’s funding provided organizational support for the Youth Reconciliation Initiative, annual exchange program, and the National Youth Reconciliation Gathering.
The Circle on Philanthropy
The Circle
The Circle on Philanthropy provides an open network to promote giving, sharing, and philanthropy in Aboriginal communities across the country. The Harbinger foundation is a member of this umbrella organization, and supports Indigenous resurgence projects throughout the country.
Bring Food Home Conference, Lakehead University
Bring Food Home
Harbinger funded 6 Indigenous youth to attend the Bring Food Home conference in Ottawa on October 25-27, 2017. Conference focused on food sovereignty, decolonization and food justice.
